The City of Filer is accepting applications for a part-time, 15 hours per week, at $20.00 per hour, Code Enforcement Officer.
Applicants must be 18 yrs of age or older and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. They must be physically agile, and able to work independently in all weather conditions. Must be able to successfully complete a polygraph examination, drug test, credit, and criminal background checks. They must be able to successfully complete on the job training conducted by the Filer Police Department.

Job Description
Under the supervision of the Police Department and in coordination with other City Departments, this position performs a variety of routine and complex work in the interpretation and enforcement of City codes and regulations related to community nuisances, abandoned and junk vehicles, parking violations, animal control, property maintenance, and related areas. The Code Enforcement Officer performs a variety of duties involved in the investigation and resolution of potential violations, collaborating with residents and businesses to achieve voluntary compliance with codes whenever possible. The position is required to monitor and respond to calls for assistance.
Duties will include and are not limited to:
• Investigating and enforcing animal control, parking, and other nuisance ordinances
• Promoting positive working relationships with the community and other officials.
• Responding to/investigating complaints from the public
• Maintaining records (daily logs, incident reports, case files, records of investigations)
• Responding to court hearings

Hometown Christmas - We will have crafts and photos with Santa from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Food Vendors will be here from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Light Parade @ 6:00 p.m. followed by lighting of City Christmas Tree and visits with Santa
